The Attorney-General’s Department is consulting on strengthening the Modern Slavery Act, following the government’s formal response to a major review of the Act’s first three years.
The changes include stronger reporting requirements and civil penalties for non-compliance.
The reform process will roll out in three phases: public and targeted consultations; legislative amendments; and updated guidance and administrative measures.
