ASIC’s roadmap for digital assets law reform implementation

ASIC has announced its roadmap for bringing digital asset platforms and tokenised custody platforms under the financial services licensing regime from 9 April 2027.

Background.

This includes its expected timeline and approach to consulting on the new standards and guidance, including early indications of the content that will be covered.

Under the new regime, ASIC is tasked with licensing and supervising these platforms, and with enforcing the law as required.
